Fine arts are of immense importance as a source of creativity and self-expression: Anoop Lather

New Delhi , October 9.The Delhi University Culture Council, in collaboration with Motilal Nehru College (Evening), successfully organized a three-day inter-college/department Fine Arts Competition from October 6th to 8th. Students from various colleges and departments of the university showcased artistic expression, creativity, and cultural diversity in the competition. DU Culture Council Chairperson and PRO Anoop Lather attended the closing ceremony and prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest. DU Culture Council Dean Prof. Ravinder Kumar was the special guest. Motilal Nehru College (Evening) Principal Prof. Sandeep Garg and Fine Arts Category Nodal Officer Debashish Parashar were also present.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Mr. Anoop Lather emphasized the importance of fine arts as a source of creativity and self-expression and commended the enthusiasm of all participants. Prof. Ravinder Kumar encouraged students to identify their strengths and engage meaningfully with creativity. The Principal commended the collective efforts of the faculty, organizers, and student volunteers in making the event a success. Motilal Nehru College (Evening), the nodal center for the fine arts category, hosted six competitions: on-the-spot painting , collage making , clay modeling , rangoli , poster making, and cartooning. The event received 310 Google Form registrations across the six categories .

The competitions covered a wide range of topics , including modes of transport and communication , cultural tourism , mother and child , Indian festivals , environmental conservation, and a fun childhood moment. Participants showcased their artistic skills, imagination, and perspective through a variety of creative creations. An expert panel of judges evaluated the entries , while appointed observers monitored the entire process for three days. Winners in all six categories were awarded cash prizes, trophies, and certificates. The first , second, and third place winners received prizes of ₹5,000, ₹4,000 , and ₹3,000, respectively.
